Vientiane and its golden Buddhist stupa welcome you with a warm glow in the city centre. Outside of town, the Buddha garden and its many sculptures make for a relaxing afternoon wandering amongst the faces and climbing through the giant installations. We made the locals laugh with our animal masks and found the cheapest beer yet.
