Monterrico, Guatemala

With an ambition to chart warm sandy beaches, we set our sights on the coastal paradise of Monterrico. My first day of real riding gave a taste of what my new existence on the back of a bike had in store for the upcoming month. Feeling the air, smelling the smells, riding the trails awoke in me a new way to experience life. Cruising through picturesque landscapes, witnessing the transition from bustling city life to the tranquility of rural Guatemala. In between lazy afternoons by the sea, I wandered through Monterrico's sandy streets, stopping at market stalls selling handmade crafts and quaint cafes serving up traditional tasty cuisine. A delightful morning was spent navigating a canoe through the winding channels of a mangrove forest to catch a glimpse of the fine feathered friends that call this place home.
