TIMBERLINE TRAIL around MOUNT HOOD, OREGON

The 40 mile trek traverses the many sides of Mount Hood. Sandy sparse hilltops leading to lush old-growth forests. Crossing icy alpine streams that pour into wildflower-filled meadows. Clambering atop the towering craggy glaciers and over rough volcanic landscapes. The fall colors just starting to flourish and late summer sun providing the clearest vistas of all the neighboring Oregon peaks. Sitting clifftop at sunset, watching the purple mountains be their most majestic.
